Postponement And Cancellations in Elective care - PACE 2024

PACE is a collaborative project led by the NIHR Central London Patient Safety Research Collaboration, NHS England, University College London and the Centre for Research and Improvement at the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA)

The purpose is to understand the rates and reasons for postponements occurring at the preoperative assessment stage, and cancellations within 24h of surgery.

It is a follow-up to the 2022 Super-SNAP1 project led by the RCoA and we will publish our findings collaboratively.

It is a service evaluation, as determined by the HRA decision tool and therefore no ethics or HRA approval is required.
