Our Mission

The NIHR Central London PSRC mission is to conduct world-leading research that improves patient safety and enhances the quality of healthcare.

The NIHR funds, enables and delivers world-leading health and social care research that improves people's health and wellbeing and promotes economic growth.

NIHR PSRCs are partnerships between the NHS/universities in England to support patient safety research. The Collaborations aim to develop, validate and test innovations, approaches and interventions that have the potential to lead to improvements in patient safety and the safety of health and care services. A key emphasis underpinning all research themes is the reduction in inequalities in the safety of healthcare. The NIHR awarded £25 million over five years from 1 April 2023 to six Collaborations across England.
